The Puzzle is a Hungarian indie-pop band living in London since 2004

The band was formed in Kaposvar, Hungary in 1997. Soon they started gigging with playing small local venues, then bigger native festivals and writing their own songs strictly in English. In 2000 their demo called "Dream your life" received fully positive reviews, but the real breaktrough happened in summer of 2000. The Puzzle won the first prize on "Pepsi Starmaker" Competition: a record deal with Universal Music Hungary. The recordings had started in December of 2000, but unfortunately due to the poor conditions of the Hungarian record industry it broke off soon after.

It took almost 3 years to finalize the album, which was finally released in 2003 October by Universal Hungary. By that time the band knew that it's impossible to reach success with such kind of music in Hungary, so the decision was made: everything should be started again right from the beginning, but not in Hungary though in London.

Though they were one of Hungary's most exciting and buzzing bands, in early 2004 the band recorded their latest demo up to date called "Noitulove" and then deicided to give up everything in Hungary, to risk all and move to London. With unbelievable talent they will surely be back with a Major very soon.

From now on, the band is looking for any kind of cooperations with labels, whilst at the same time they're trying to build a profile with starting to play gigs around the UK. Fortunately The Puzzle benefits from the support of British Council Hungary and the Association of the Arts Unions Bureau for the Protection of Performers' Rights, who are supporting the band both promotionally and financial wise. There's a great hope that simoultanously as Hungary join the European Union there can be a Hungarian band who could finally reach international success at a certain level.

At the same time right after settling down in London and announcing their first gigs in the UK, an idependent promotional company featured and rated the guys as Band of the Week on the Glasswerk music portal (www.glasswerk.co.uk).

The Puzzle's latest recording is called "Noitulove". It contains 8 unique English songs, including the massive tune called "Fragile".
